American Gladiators

Advertising and Marketing No Comments »

On Mark Cuban’s blog back in May of last year, he was asking for show ideas. I posted on his blog that American Gladiators should be brought back.

Here is the post.

719. As a TV producer I see a lot of opportunity. HD and your demographic would be great for original action serials and sci-fi serials. Mark, I have seen you on Donny Deutsch and you are so controversial you should have your own talk show. They are easy to produce and get a lot of bang for your buck.

The numbers for Adult Swim for men 18-35 are amazing. So how about competing with them.

Online/On TV video game tournaments(Madden, Tiger Woods Golf, etc)

Bring back American Gladiators.

Dear Steve Jobs

Advertising and Marketing No Comments »

I bought an iPhone 2 weeks ago. I got a 4 gig refurbished and saved $100 dollars. Now I could get an 8 gig for the same price? So I called Apple and they pointed me to Steve’s letter and told me to check back next week, I should qualify for the $100 credit. Great, that is enough money for me to get a blue tooth headset! But, Steve you can keep my $100 dollars. I started working in the design and media business in 1998 doing graphic design using a Mac. I wanted to get into video editing but just could not wrap my head around an Avid system. Then came Final Cut Pro version 1. I was editing in 15min and never looked back. Since then I have worked as a graphic designer at a college, promotions producer for a TV station, head of production for a TV network and now running my own ad agency/media production house. All of this has been done with a Mac.  Now, I do not make a lot of money but I decided to buy an iPhone. The first week I had it I was doing a photo shoot for a new client(designing their brochures). I had sample photos on my iPhone to show the photographer and had used my iPhone to scout the location the day before. While on the shoot I was trying to get my client to let me do some of their web work. We started talking and he asked me if I thought a certain domain would be available? On the spot I pulled up GoDaddy on my iPhone and sure enough it was available. I told my client I could buy it now, and he said do it. Now I am doing their web project. So the iPhone payed for itself in one day. My Apple products are not just gadgets but tools of my trade and I can not survive with out them. Steve, keep my $100 dollars and put it to work building the next new advances so I can grow my business.

Thank you,

Brant Collins
